Hearth

It was hot last night so I wasn’t particularly hungry, but spring (and its vegetables) is quickly disappearing so I put these two factors together and went to Hearth to graze on some appetizers. It would be a shame to miss Marco’s offerings at this time of year. I won’t harp on it, they were all great and I would happily get them all again. I cannot pick a favorite so I won’t try.

It's not often I let pictures speak for themselves, the truth is well presented food can still not taste good (just sample any of the Crisco standing in for ice-cream in commercial shoots) but in this case I think the pictures tell the story. The food was as fresh, lively, light, and well made as it looks. The layers of herbs, lettuces, and aromatics are all right there to see. Feast your eyes.

Vitello tonnato (too hard to explain; making it takes time ((days)) and steps to make, just get it)

Soft shell crab on warm potato salad with mustard

Gnocchi (of course).
