Stopped by Craftsteak for a second time Thursday with Pichon , Helmet, Stupid, and Rubble. Here is some of the porn:
Appetizers:
Tartar
Whole roasted foie presented
Foie served
Rhubarb with foie
Steaks:
in order of preference
Hawaiian grass fed rib eye
Ridgefield corn-fed Hereford 35 day
Corn-fed Hereford porterhouse for two
Snake River Farm waygu rib-eye
Ridgefield corn-fed Hereford 28 day
Ridgefield corn-fed Hereford 42 day
Sides:
in order of preference
asparagus
Mixed mushrooms
Zucchini flowers
English peas
Yukon gold puree
Roasted ramps
Morels (most buttery thing ever)
Sauteed spinach
All
None
Day three in Craftsteak's history and some things have been added. The foie is awesome, if you own a '21 d'Yquem (yea you) this is the dish to get. Soon the 54 day aged beef will be around and I may just have to go back.
I was going to write a thoughtful reply to your original CraftSteak post.
But after seeing your second post, all I say is I have no choice but to take my wife and eat what appears to be a refreshing take on a "steak restaurant."
I've never been a fan of Tom simply due to the fact that I can't stand the concept behind Craft.
But I see my entry point here. I'll repost after devouring the CraftSteak experience.
(Still think we should protest in front of Otto demanding a pizza with a cracked egg on top. Mario: are you listening?)
